• Legally registered for-profit private company
• Physical presence in Africa (or credible market entry plan)
• Window 1: MVP developed, beyond ideation
• Window 2: Demonstrated commercial deployment, ready to scale
• Must provide 1:1 matching funds (cash or in-kind)
• Must demonstrate additionality
• Operating in one of 27 sub-Saharan African AECF countries

What They Look For

For-profit companies building digital solutions for clean energy, clean cooking, e-mobility, or digital agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa. AECF requires proven business models needing capital to scale, not early-stage ideas. Matching funds mandatory. Current open program: REACT 2.0 DIFEC (deadline April 16, 2026).
