EUR 10,000 per participant + mentorship programme
Multi-disciplinary mentorship programme supporting creative practices exploring how communities relate to each other and public space in cities. Cycle 5 (March–December 2026) brings together 9 mid-career creatives (7–15 years experience) working across architecture, design, spatial practice, and urban communities. Each receives EUR 10,000 and guided mentorship from Senior Fellows. Programme includes online peer sessions, individual feedback, guest speakers, and one in-person Lab Week intensive. IMPORTANT: This is a DISTINCT programme from the Prince Claus Seed Awards (which targets early-career artists with EUR 5,000).

Cycle 5 may be the final cycle. Applications for current cycle already closed (Aug 2025). Not for startups or businesses — strictly individual creative practitioners.
This is distinct from the Prince Claus Seed Awards (EUR 5,000, early-career). Building Beyond targets mid-career creatives with 7-15 years experience and focuses specifically on architecture, design, and spatial practice in African cities. The programme may be in its final cycle — Cycle 5 was noted as the last year in some sources. Strong emphasis on community and public space work.
